Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Design & Operations Manager specializing in Fire Suppression systems to lead our project planning, design, and operational execution.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development of innovative fire suppression solutions, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure that projects meet safety standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will drive efficiency, quality, and safety across all phases of fire suppression system deployment, empowering our organization to deliver reliable protection for clients and communities alike.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice and design compliant dry riser systems in accordance with BS 9990:2015 and relevant fire protection standards.
- Review customer-supplied drawings and specifications to prepare accurate and competitive quotations for dry riser installations.
- Produce Dry Riser System designs in accordance with BS9990:2015 where required by the customer.
- Manage quotation follow-up activities, liaising with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to secure orders and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Coordinate and oversee the installation of dry riser systems, working closely with approved subcontractors and in-house engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Plan and manage project delivery from initial enquiry through to completion, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, and quality requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and issue all relevant project documentation, including installation records, commissioning documentation, and certification upon completion.
- Ensure all installations comply with applicable British Standards, industry regulations, and company quality procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical guidance to colleagues, clients, and project stakeholders as required.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously by prioritizing tasks effectively and maintaining strict adherence to deadlines through excellent time management skills.
- Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment necessary for system installation, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, modifications, inspections, and operational procedures to ensure transparency and accountability.
Skills
- Proficiency in project scheduling and resource management.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of fire suppression system design principles, safety standards, and regulatory compliance to British Standards BS9990:2015.
- A minimum of 2 years design experience of fire suppression system.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple projects efficiently while meeting tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex technical data and translate it into practical solutions.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on continuous improvement in design quality and operational efficiency.

Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
