Pharmacy Assistant / Trainee Dispenser (Permanent)

Hours of Work
- 30 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
- 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm
- These working hours are fixed and cannot be changed.
Contract
This is a permanent position, subject to the successful completion of a probationary period.
Experience & Training
Previous pharmacy experience or qualifications are not essential. I welcome applications from individuals who are genuinely interested in developing a long-term career in community pharmacy.
Comprehensive training will be provided, including all required pharmacy courses.
There are excellent career progression opportunities for the right candidate, with the potential to progress to Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT), one of the highest qualifications available within the pharmacy technician pathway.
Location
You will work as part of a team across two independent community pharmacies in Accrington. Your main place of work will be:

Main Duties
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Labelling and dispensing prescriptions
- Assisting customers at the medicines counter
- Answering telephone calls and dealing with enquiries
- Managing and replenishing stock
- Preparing monitored dosage systems (blister packs/MDS)
- Date checking medicines and stock rotation
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the pharmacy, including sweeping, mopping, emptying bins, cleaning toilets, and washing up
- Supporting colleagues with the smooth day-to-day running of the pharmacy

Languages
Applications from multilingual candidates are particularly welcomed. The ability to speak Urdu, Punjabi, or Polish would be a significant advantage.
