Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plastic Moulding Injection Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining plastic injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic components. Your expertise will help ensure efficient production processes, uphold safety standards, and deliver precision parts that meet our strict quality requirements. Hours of Work:
Full Time, Mon - Thur or Tue - Fri 6.00am - 6.00pm 48 hours per week
WEEKENDS OFF // BANK HOLIDAYS PAID OFF
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor plastic injection molding machines, ensuring optimal performance and product quality.
- Oversee the day to day operation and manufacturing of the machine
- Perform quality inspections throughout the production process to identify defects or deviations from specifications.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently using materials handling equipment such as forklifts and press brake machines.
- Maintain accurate production records, including shift logs, inspection reports, and machine maintenance documentation.
- Assist in the setup and calibration of auxiliary equipment like plastics blow molding, plastics extrusion lines, and fabrication tools.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of hand tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks related to finished plastic components as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience working in plastics manufacturing or injection molding environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used for machine automation control systems.
- Hands-on experience with plastics blow molding, extrusion processes, or fabrication techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of quality inspection methods using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery maintenance, CNC lathe operations, press brake machines, and machining processes.
- Warehouse experience or materials handling skills involving forklift operation are advantageous.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction in production workflows.
