Are you passionate about providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences for guests? We are looking for a friendly, organised, and enthusiastic Hotel Receptionist to join our welcoming team at our privately owned and managed hotel.
As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in ensuring every visitor receives a warm welcome and enjoys an outstanding stay. Working alongside our reception team, you'll help create a positive and professional experience from the moment guests make a reservation to the time they check out.

What You'll Be Doing
- Providing a warm, professional, and friendly welcome to all guests, both in person and over the phone.
- Handling room, function, and catering reservations efficiently and accurately.
- Assisting guests with enquiries and resolving issues in a courteous and professional manner.
- Delivering excellent customer service and ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable stay.
- Promoting a culture where nothing is too much trouble and we are always happy to help.
- Maintaining a tidy, organised, and welcoming reception area.
- Using our Oracle PMS, OPERA software, Microsoft Office programmes, and telephone systems.
- Maintaining accurate guest, customer account, and bookkeeping records.
- Carrying out cashiering and reconciliation duties as required.
- Completing daily, weekly, and monthly departmental tasks.
- Working closely with colleagues across all departments to ensure the smooth running of the hotel.
About You

- Have strong computer skills and attention to detail.
- Enjoy working as part of a team.
- Be flexible and willing to support colleagues in other departments when needed.
Previous hotel reception experience would be beneficial, particularly experience using Oracle PMS and OPERA software, although full training can be provided for the right candidate.
Working Hours
This role operates on a rota basis, working 5 days out of 7, including weekends and weekdays.
Typical shifts are:
- 7:00am to 2:15pm
- 2:00pm to 10:00pm

Our hotel is situated in a stunning rural location (DT2 9PW), offering a unique and rewarding place to work.
Please note that your own transport is essential, as there are currently no public transport links to the hotel.
