Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Staircase Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for renovating,fabricating, and installing custom staircases that enhance both the safety and aesthetic appeal of residential and commercial buildings. Your expertise will ensure each project meets high standards of craftsmanship, precision, and durability. Duties
- install and renovate staircases using a variety of hand tools and power tools to ensure precise fit and finish
- Fabricate custom staircase components such as stringers, treads, risers, balustrades, and handrails according to project specifications
- Interpret architectural drawings and blueprints to accurately execute staircase designs
- Perform heavy lifting and material handling safely during fabrication and installation phases
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades to coordinate installation schedules and resolve on-site challenges
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process to maintain high standards of joinery and craftsmanship
- Apply finishing techniques, or touch-ups as needed for a polished final appearance
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry with a strong focus on staircase fabrication and installation
- Skilled in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, drills, levels, clamps, as well as power tools including routers and sanders
- Knowledge of joinery techniques specific to staircase construction and general carpentry principles
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or architectural plans accurately
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting, climbing ladders, working at heights, and standing for extended periods
- Familiarity with roofing, plumbing, masonry or electrical work is a plus but not mandatory; demonstrates versatility in construction trades
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety standards on all job sites
