What this role is all about:
The Financial Crime Officer plays an important role in protecting Vitality, its customers and its reputation from financial crime risk. Working within a risk-based control environment, this role supports the delivery and ongoing enhancement of the Financial Crime Framework, helping to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while strengthening controls across the business. From sanctions and PEP screening to due diligence, investigations and stakeholder guidance, the position offers broad exposure to financial crime prevention and the opportunity to contribute to key projects, continuous improvement initiatives and effective risk management.
Key Actions
- Conduct sanctions, PEP and financial crime screening reviews, ensuring accurate and timely risk assessments
- Undertake AML investigations, analysing referrals and screening alerts to identify and escalate potential risks
- Complete customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD) and ongoing monitoring for higher-risk relationships
- Provide expert guidance on AML, sanctions, anti-bribery and wider financial crime requirements across the business
- Support the development and continuous improvement of financial crime frameworks, controls, policies and processes
- Produce management information and reporting to identify trends, assess control effectiveness and support decision-making
- Contribute to audits, assurance reviews and control testing activities, ensuring robust governance and compliance standards
- Support projects, system enhancements and awareness initiatives that strengthen financial crime prevention and operational effectiveness
What do you need to thrive?
- Experience applying AML, sanctions and anti-bribery & corruption requirements within a regulated environment
- Strong customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence and financial crime investigation experience
- Ability to identify, assess and escalate financial crime risks effectively
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory and legislative requirements
- Effective stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
