The Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of Solar PV, solar carport, EV charging, and associated civil and electrical works across the Northeast and wider UK.This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing multiple concurrent projects, ensuring technical excellence, commercial performance, and safe, efficient delivery. You will work closely with the Delivery Director and lead internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver high‑quality renewable energy installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership — Lead end‑to‑end delivery of Solar PV and renewable energy projects from design through commissioning and client handover.
- Programme & Resource Management — Develop and manage project programmes, resource plans, and critical paths to ensure timely delivery.
- Technical Oversight — Review designs, structural assessments, electrical layouts, and ensure compliance with MCS, DNO (G98/G99), CDM 2015, and BS 7671.
- Site Coordination — Oversee site mobilisation, logistics, access, welfare, and subcontractor coordination.
- Commercial Management — Manage budgets, track costs, approve variations, and ensure projects meet commercial targets.
- Risk & Compliance — Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to H&S legislation and company policies.
- Quality Assurance — Conduct site inspections, ensure installation quality, and oversee testing, commissioning, and documentation.
- Stakeholder Management — Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Reporting & Documentation — Produce progress reports, maintain project trackers, and ensure accurate handover documentation.
- Team Leadership — Mentor junior PMs, coordinators, and site teams, supporting their development and performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering Solar PV, EV charging, or construction projects in a senior project management role.
- Strong understanding of UK construction processes, CDM 2015, and renewable‑energy installation requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong commercial awareness.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and site information.
- Proactive, solutions‑focused, and able to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
Desirable
- Experience with solar carports or large‑scale commercial Solar PV.
- Knowledge of DNO applications, G98/G99, and MCS processes.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Monday.com, Procore).
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Pay: £41,813.55-£50,000.00 per year
