The Role
As a complex care assistant during the evening shift, you will support a child through their after-school, dinner, and bedtime routine. You will be responsible for their safety, comfort, and clinical stability.
Your duties include:
- Advanced Clinical Care: Managing tracheostomy care, BiPAP, and oxygen management.
- Respiratory Support: Competently administering oral suctioning and saline nebulisers.
- Nutritional & Stoma Care: Managing PEG/JEG feeding, medication administration, and gastrostomy stoma care.
- Physical Support: Safely executing manual handling and transfers.
- Emergency Management: Monitoring for seizures and administering rescue medication if required.
- Professional Advocacy: Building strong, trusting relationships with families while maintaining boundaries.
