Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Optical Assistant to join our professional team. The successful candidate will support optometrists in delivering excellent eye care services, assisting with patient interactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of the optical practice. Duties
- Assisting patients with selecting frames and lenses, providing advice on suitable options based on their needs and preferences
- Preparing and maintaining optical equipment, including cleaning and calibration
- Supporting optometrists during eye examinations by preparing instruments and recording patient information accurately
- Managing patient appointments, ensuring efficient scheduling and follow-up communications
- Maintaining stock levels of frames, lenses, and accessories, including ordering supplies as needed
- Providing excellent customer service by addressing patient queries and offering guidance on optical products
- maintaining a clean and organised environment
Requirements
- Previous optical experience is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn about optical products and procedures
- Basic computer literacy for managing patient records and appointments
