Hours: 48 hours per week, Monday–Friday (with overnight stays)
Salary: £35,644 per annum + night out allowance + driver bonus

The Role
We are looking for a 7.5 Tonne Driver & Fitter to join our Despatch team in Birmingham.
You will be responsible for safely delivering our products to customers, following pre-arranged routes or using maps/GPS, and ensuring vehicles are well maintained, clean and compliant. You will also support with fitting/assembling products on customer sites as needed.

Important Things to Know
- Nights out are an essential part of this role – you must be able to commit to up to 4 nights out per week.
- Nights out are in paid hotel accommodation, shared with your team mate.
Key Responsibilities
- Practice safe driving habits at all times.
- Follow all national driving laws, safety regulations and standards.
- Accurately follow routes, maps and GPS directions.
- Load and unload the vehicle safely.
- Maintain the vehicle, including oil checks, fuel, and basic safety-related maintenance.
- Keep the vehicle exterior clean and presentable.
- Keep windows, windscreens and mirrors clean, and the vehicle interior free from debris and clutter.
- Complete all required documentation, including defect sheets.
- Follow schedules and reroute in a timely manner when required (e.g. traffic or congestion).
- Be courteous to all other road users.
- Comply with Tachograph legislation and speed limits.
- Develop and maintain good knowledge of products and how to assemble them at customers’ premises.
- Ensure sack barrows, ties and a complete toolbox are taken on each run.
- Ensure your mobile phone is in full working order to use the PDA and maintain communication with the office.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks required by the company.
Skills & Experience
- Category C1 licence – essential.
- Clean driving licence.
- Full Driver CPC qualifications.
- Demonstrated safe driving practices.
- Able to follow verbal directions, read maps and use GPS.
- Able to work effectively as part of a 2-person team.
- Able to maintain high standards in line with Customer Service Guidelines.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Previous professional driving experience preferred – training will be provided.
