SEN Teaching Assistant
Hammersmith & Fulham, W12 (commutable from Shepherd's Bush, White City, Acton, Hammersmith and Chiswick)
£110-£120 per day
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary
Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Hammersmith & Fulham from September.
Working within Key Stage 1, you'll provide focused support for pupils with special educational needs, helping them access classroom learning, develop independence and make progress towards individual targets.
The school is particularly interested in candidates who already have experience supporting children with needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties or developmental delay and understand how to adapt their approach to the individual child.
The Role
As a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group SEN support

Help pupils access English, Maths and wider curriculum activities

Break learning into manageable steps and reinforce key concepts

Support communication, interaction and emotional regulation
-
Use visual resources, structured routines and positive reinforcement

Help pupils manage transitions and remain engaged during lessons

Promote independence rather than creating reliance on adult support

Work closely with teachers and the SENCo to follow individual support plans and EHCP outcomes
What We're Looking For

Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school

Understanding of ASD, ADHD, communication or learning needs

Confident adapting activities for pupils working at different developmental levels

Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, visual communication or sensory strategies is advantageous

Calm, patient and consistent when pupils find situations challenging

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Available full-time from September
