Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. Duties
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods from lorries and storage areas
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively
- Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements
- Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch, ensuring correct quantities and product integrity
- Organising stock through stocking activities, maintaining organised storage areas
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and compliance checks
- Conducting quality control inspections to ensure products meet company standards
- Performing mechanical checks on equipment and reporting any faults or maintenance needs
- Engaging in heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Supporting overall warehouse operations to optimise workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment or logistics setting is preferred
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
- Valid forklift licence or willingness to undertake training (nice-to-have)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse equipment is desirable
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in picking, packing, and stock management
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy warehouse setting
