About Us
Amy's Bakehouse is a premium bespoke cake and cupcake business based in St Albans, founded by brother-and-sister team Nick and Amy in 2022. We create beautiful celebration cakes and cupcakes for customers across Hertfordshire and London — from birthdays and weddings to corporate orders for some well-known brands. With a social following of over 500,000, we're a small, friendly team with big ambitions, and we're looking for someone reliable to help keep the kitchen running smoothly.
The Role
You'll play a key role, handling the essential prep and support work that keeps our bakers and decorators focused on what they do best. No two days are exactly the same, but your core responsibilities will include:
- Buttercream production — making batches of buttercream to our recipes and standards, including different flavours and colours
- Ingredient prep — sieving flour, sugar and other dry ingredients ready for baking
- Box assembly — putting together our cake boxes and cupcake boxes
- Order packing — helping pack customer orders accurately and carefully, ready for delivery
- Baking room assistance — helping fill cake tins with batter and wrap cake sponges
- Washing up — keeping equipment, bowls and utensils clean and ready to use throughout the day
- Cleaning & organisation — mopping floors and helping keep the kitchen spotless and organised.

Who We're Looking For
- Reliable, punctual and hard-working, you take pride in doing the basics brilliantly
- Careful and gentle when handling products, including carrying cakes, wrapping fragile sponges and packing orders
- Precise and accurate in everyday tasks, there is very little room for errors or inaccuracies
- Comfortable being on your feet and working hands-on throughout the day
- Organised, with good attention to detail (accuracy is critical when packing orders)
- A team player with a positive attitude who mucks in wherever needed
- Kitchen or food-industry experience is a bonus, but not essential — full training provided
- Good understanding of (or willingness to learn) food hygiene basics
