MAC Groundwork Contractors Ltd is a Staffordshire-based groundwork contractor specialising in the installation of Play Parks, Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs), Sports Pitches and Padel Courts across the UK. We work with local authorities, schools, housing developers, and leisure facilities to deliver high-quality recreational environments.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit experienced 2-Man Groundworks Teams, General Operatives, and All-Rounders to join our Sports & Leisure Division.

The Role
Working as part of a dedicated installation team, you will be involved in all aspects of groundwork and sports & leisure construction projects, including play park installations, MUGAs, sports courts, drainage works, foundations, and site preparation.
Applications from established 2-man gangs are highly encouraged.
One team member must hold an SSSTS qualification and be capable of undertaking a Foreman/Supervisory role.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general groundwork activities on a variety of projects.
- Assist with the installation of play parks, MUGAs, sports courts, and recreational facilities.
- Excavation, drainage, foundations, kerbing, edgings, and concrete works.
- Operate plant and machinery where qualified.
- Read and work from site drawings and specifications.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and site safety.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet programme deadlines.
- Liaise with site management and clients when required.
- Support the Foreman in day-to-day site activities.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in groundwork, construction, or civil engineering environments.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Willingness to travel nationwide and work away from home Monday to Friday.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Foreman Requirements (One Member of Each Team)
- Valid SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) qualification.
- Previous experience supervising site operations and workforce.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Ability to manage site activities and communicate effectively with management.
Plant Qualifications (Desirable)
- CPCS or NPORS Plant Tickets.
- Excavator/Digger.
- Dumper.
- Roller.
- Telehandler.
- Any additional plant qualifications are advantageous.
