We need a practical, experienced multi-skilled builder/handyman who can get on with jobs properly without needing someone standing over them all day.
Immediate work includes:
- Finding and repairing leaks to a flat roof.
- Improving/replacing coping details where needed.
- Preparing roof surfaces and applying a proper waterproof coating/system.
- Striking/removing timber shuttering from concrete ground beams.
- General making good.
- Clearing, tidying and organising the site.
- Moving and disposing of construction debris/materials.
- Minor carpentry, roofing and general building jobs as they come up.
You need to be someone who can look at a problem, work out what needs doing and get it done properly.
We are not looking for someone who only does one trade. You should be comfortable with a mixture of roofing, waterproofing, carpentry/formwork, concrete-related work and general site jobs.
You should have:
- Good practical building experience.
- Experience with flat roof repairs/waterproofing.
- Experience removing shuttering/formwork safely.
- Your own basic tools.
- Ideally your own transport.
- Ability to work alone and take responsibility for the job.
This could lead to ongoing work for the right person.
