Overview
We are seeking a self-employed Owner Driver to operate independently within our logistics network. This role offers the flexibility to manage your own schedule while delivering excellent service to our clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery and commercial driving, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism. As a self-employed contractor, you will be responsible for managing your vehicle and ensuring timely deliveries across designated routes.
Duties
- Conduct delivery runs efficiently, adhering to scheduled routes and deadlines
- Safely load and unload goods, including heavy items requiring manual handling and lifting
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs
- Ensure all deliveries are completed in accordance with company standards and legal regulations
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance to ensure optimal operation
- Communicate effectively with clients and dispatch teams regarding delivery status or issues
- Manage your own vehicle maintenance, fuel, and insurance requirements as a self-employed individual
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving and warehouse operations is advantageous
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Organised with excellent time management skills to meet tight schedules
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws within the UK
