Job Overview
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Bank Care Assistant to join our team at The Willow, a small, family-run residential care home in Chesham.
With just 11 residents, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, personalised care in a warm, homely environment. This bank role is ideal for someone flexible who can support us on night shifts when needed, covering holidays, sickness, and busy periods.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring continuity of care while being a familiar, friendly face for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
- Support residents during mealtimes and assist with nutritional needs
- Encourage participation in social and physical activities
- Maintain accurate care records and report any concerns promptly
- Promote dignity, independence, and wellbeing at all times
- Follow safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety procedures
- Work collaboratively with the team to deliver person-centred care
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
Skills & Qualities
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal English)
- Caring, patient, and empathetic nature
- Reliable and flexible, especially for weekend availability
- Good attention to detail and time management
- Basic IT skills (or willingness to learn electronic care systems)
Requirements
- Care Certificate (or willingness to complete during induction)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
- Right to work in the UK
- Previous care experience desirable
- Dementia and/or end-of-life care experience advantageous
