Are you a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant looking for a role where you can make a real difference when it matters most?
We are seeking caring and empathetic Healthcare Assistants to join our dedicated team here in Glasgow, delivering exceptional end-of-life care to people across Glasgow City delivering our Hospice Care at Home service. In this rewarding role, you'll provide vital support to patients and their families in the comfort of their own homes, helping them maintain dignity, comfort and quality of life during some of life's most challenging moments.
What you will be doing:
No two days are the same. Working independently and alongside colleagues, you'll travel throughout the community, providing personalised care tailored to each individual's needs and circumstances. Your kindness, professionalism and ability to build meaningful connections will have a lasting impact on those we support.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you'll deliver hands-on personal care, assist with medication, support daily living activities and, where required, help with meal preparation. You'll be part of a fast-paced service supporting people recently discharged from hospital, those with palliative care needs, and individuals approaching the end of life.
Working closely with District Nurses, Health and Social Care Partnership teams, hospice colleagues and wider multidisciplinary professionals, you'll play a key role in ensuring seamless, compassionate care. While much of your work will be supporting patients in their own homes, there may also be occasions where you'll provide support to teams within the hospice environment.
If you're passionate about delivering outstanding care, thrive in a varied community-based role, and want to be part of an organisation that truly makes a difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.
What we’re looking for:
A minimum of six months’ recent experience delivering care in a health or social care setting
A full UK driving licence and access to a car for travel across Glasgow
A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to respond to changing service needs and priorities.
Willingness to work across different locations and travel within the designated area as required to support patients, families and colleagues.
A relevant Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care, such as NVQ Level 2, NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Healthcare Support Services, BTEC Level 2, or an equivalent.
-
Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), or willing to register upon appointment
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, while also being confident working independently when required
