Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Confectioner and Cake Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background with a focus on creating exquisite cakes and confections. This role requires creativity, attention to detail and a commitment to food safety standards. As a Confectioner and Cake Maker you will be responsible for producing high quality baked goods that delight our customers and enhance our reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries and confections according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all food preparation adheres to food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
- Decorate cakes and desserts using various techniques, including icing, fondant and edible decorations.
- Maintain an organised kitchen workspace, ensuring all equipment is clean and in good working order.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food production techniques.
Experience
- Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or bakery setting is highly desirable.
- Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation methods and baking techniques.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in the kitchen environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high quality standards.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in both presentation and execution of baked goods.
