We are looking for a confident, reliable and well-organised person based in the Gillingham, Kent area to carry out telephone and administrative work from home.
The role will mainly involve making routine outbound calls on behalf of our company and accurately recording the results of those calls. These are administrative calls rather than sales calls.
Main duties
The role will mainly involve:
- Contacting customers to provide updates or request information
- Following up outstanding documents or actions
- Confirming customer details
- Answering straightforward questions
- Recording the outcome of every call accurately
- Completing and updating spreadsheets stored in Google Drive
- Entering customer details, call outcomes and other information into company records
- Checking spreadsheets to ensure information is complete and accurate
- Passing any queries or issues to the appropriate member of the team
- Completing occasional related administrative tasks
You will work from home and have flexibility over when you complete the work. However, telephone calls must be made during reasonable daytime or early evening hours, and all allocated work must be completed within the required timescales.
The amount of work may vary depending on our requirements.
Requirements
You must:
- Live in or close to Gillingham, Kent
- Speak clearly and confidently on the telephone
- Be polite, professional and comfortable speaking with different people
- Be confident using Google Drive and Google Sheets
- Be able to enter and update information accurately on spreadsheets
- Have good attention to detail
- Be reliable and able to work without close supervision
- Be comfortable using a computer, email and online systems
- Have a quiet and suitable place at home from which to make calls
- Have a reliable computer and internet connection
- Be able to handle customer and company information confidentially
Previous telephone, customer service, spreadsheet or administrative experience would be helpful, but guidance and training will be provided.
Pay and working arrangement
The position pays £13 per hour on a self-employed basis.
There are no fixed shifts, although calls must be made within suitable calling hours and allocated work must be completed by the deadlines given.
The role would suit someone looking for flexible part-time work that can fit around other commitments.
