We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and dedicated Special School in Kingston upon Thames. The Role
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Assist students with autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and complex learning difficulties.
- Support pupils with personal, social, emotional, and academic development.
- Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver individual learning plans.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Help create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support pupils with personal care where required.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, nursery, or support work experience welcomed).
- Is patient, caring, resilient, and adaptable.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with additional needs.
- Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Has an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
