We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate Band 6 Pre-operative Assessment Nurse to join our Pre-operative Assessment team.
You will be responsible for assessing patients before surgery to ensure they are safely prepared for their planned procedure. You will carry out comprehensive pre-operative assessments, identify and manage clinical risks, provide advice and education to patients, and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patients for surgery.
Following completion of the required training and competency assessment, you will be expected to confidently and independently screen and assess the full range of patients referred to the service, escalating complex cases appropriately when required.
The role also includes supporting junior colleagues, contributing to service improvement, audit and quality initiatives, and helping to deliver a safe, efficient and patient-centred service
