We are seeking a proactive and motivated Compliance Officer to join our team and help ensure our projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
As a Compliance Officer, you will spend the majority of your time visiting sites, carrying out inspections and audits, delivering toolbox talks, and ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, industry regulations, and client requirements.
You will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture while monitoring the quality and compliance of works across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections and compliance audits.
- Monitor health and safety standards and ensure compliance with legislation and company policies.
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to site teams.
- Inspect workmanship and quality of completed works.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Complete audit reports and maintain accurate compliance records.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances where required.
- Support site managers and operatives with compliance guidance and best practices.
- Ensure all documentation, permits, and certifications are current and compliant.
- Assist in maintaining ISO standards and company management systems.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a compliance, health and safety, quality assurance, or site inspection role.
- Strong knowledge of construction site operations and health & safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple site visits.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems.
Desirable Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- Internal Auditor qualification.
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
