The Role
We are looking to hire a Junior Buyer / Buying Assistant to work within our License team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Product Set-Up – Set up new product codes and create accurate product specifications within our internal systems.
- Artwork & Design Briefs – Prepare detailed artwork and design briefs for our in-house studio, ensuring all briefs accurately reflect both licensor requirements (including style guides and brand guidelines) and customer requirements. Review all artwork for accuracy and compliance before submission, ensuring it meets approval standards and is fit for customer presentation.
- Sales Team Liaison – Build and maintain strong working relationships with the internal Sales Team to ensure customer briefs are fully understood, product requirements are accurately interpreted, and customer expectations are met throughout the product development process.
- Buying Administration – Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Senior Buyers, including raising purchase orders, managing carton markings, coordinating product samples, and maintaining accurate product information.
- Critical Path Management – Support the management of the product lifecycle from initial concept and customer brief through to final delivery, ensuring all critical milestones are achieved and customer deadlines are met.
- Supplier Relationships – Build and maintain strong working relationships with our Far East suppliers through regular communication, ensuring projects remain on schedule and any issues are resolved efficiently.
- Sample Management – Coordinate and maintain records of Red Seal and Gold Seal samples, ensuring all approvals are completed in line with internal, customer, and licensor approval processes.
- Quality Assurance – Liaise closely with the Quality Control team to ensure products meet all required quality standards and are approved for production.
- Product Photography – Coordinate with the photographer to arrange high-resolution product images for customer presentations, approvals, marketing materials, and internal systems.
- Cross-Functional Communication – Work closely with the Sales, Design, Buying, Quality Control, and Licensing teams to ensure customer expectations, licensor requirements, and project timelines are successfully delivered.
What we are looking for
· Previous experience within the toy industry or a related consumer products environment. – preferable
· A good understanding of licensed products and licensing procedures, including style guides, licensor approval processes, artwork submissions, and critical path management.
· Experience working with Far East suppliers and manufacturers.
