The Requirements
Sport and Health Academy is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and experienced Sports Coach to join our team at a primary school in Romford.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a sports coach who wants to take their coaching experience into a school environment and play a key role in keeping children active, engaged and motivated throughout the school day.
You will work across Breakfast Club, lunchtime activities and After School Club, delivering fun and structured sports sessions while helping children develop confidence, teamwork, communication and positive sporting values.

The successful candidate will be required to arrive at school by 7:45am for Breakfast Club. The role will continue throughout the school day, including lunchtime activities, and finish with the After School Club from 3:15pm – 5:45pm.
Keys To Success
We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and adaptable Sports Coach who can bring energy and creativity to the school environment.
You don't need to be a qualified teacher to succeed in this role. We are particularly interested in coaches who have experience delivering sports sessions and enjoy working with primary-aged children.
Whether you specialise in football, basketball, athletics, multi-sports, tennis, gymnastics or another sporting discipline, we want to hear from coaches who can use their skills to create engaging experiences for children.
Level 2 or Level 3 Sports Coaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
Relevant experience in sports coaching, PE, holiday camps, schools, youth work or children's activity programmes will be considered.
Experience working with children aged 4–11 is preferred.
Your Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supervising engaging sports and physical activity sessions throughout the school day.
- Delivering fun and inclusive activities during Breakfast Club, lunchtime and After School Club.
- Encouraging children to participate in sport regardless of ability or experience.
- Developing children's confidence, teamwork, communication and sporting skills.
- Introducing children to a variety of sports, games and physical activities.
- Creating an energetic and positive environment where children look forward to being active.
- Adapting activities to suit different ages, abilities and needs.
- Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging respect, teamwork and good sportsmanship.
- Building strong relationships with pupils, teachers and school staff.
- Ensuring all activities are delivered safely and appropriate safeguarding procedures are followed.
- Setting up and packing away sports equipment and maintaining an organised activity environment.
- Acting as a positive sporting role model and inspiring children through your enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Representing Sport and Health Academy and maintaining the highest standards at all times.
