The Team
You’ll be joining a team of skilled fabricators manufacturing engineered steel stillages and handling equipment for some of the UK’s most demanding industries.
Our products are used to protect valuable components, improve safety, reduce handling risks and support critical operations throughout manufacturing and engineering environments.
As Lowe continues to grow, we’re investing heavily in our workshop, systems, equipment and people to build one of the most progressive engineering workshops in the region.
The Role
We are recruiting an experienced Fabricator / Welder.
This is a key workshop role responsible for fabricating engineered steel products from drawings and helping maintain the standards, quality and workmanship that Lowe is known for.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems and wants to contribute to a team that is constantly looking to improve.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Fabricating engineered steel products from drawings
- MIG welding fabricated assemblies
- Fitting, assembly and fabrication work
- Working to quality and production standards
- Supporting continuous improvement throughout the workshop

This is proper fabrication — reading engineering drawings, setting out, and building bespoke steel structures from start to finish. If you've spent your career on production lines or site welding and you're looking for something with more variety, this isn't that. But if you can fabricate independently from drawings and you take pride in your work, read on.
What you'll be doing:
- Heavy MIG welding on mild steel sections — 5mm and above
- Fabricating from engineering drawings without supervision
- Working in a clean, well-organised factory environment
- Contributing to a team that builds products for sectors including nuclear, defence, aerospace, and rail
What we're looking for:
- Confident MIG welding on mild steel 5mm+
- Ability to read and fabricate from engineering drawings independently
- Minimum 2 years' fabrication experience (not welding-only)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commute daily to Uttoxeter (ST14)
- Available for a paid weld test within 3 working days of application
What we offer:
- £16–£18/hr depending on experience
- Regular overtime available — realistic OTE £48k–£53k+
- Permanent position — days only, Monday to Friday
