Cafe Manager/Barista
40hrs per week
Join our family business as Cafe Manager and Barista, where you will lead the daily operations of a busy coffee shop. You will deliver excellent service, with a smile, hospitality and hands-on drink preparation with particular emphasis on team leadership and ensuring a welcoming environment for all customers. If you thrive in fast-paced settings, possess confidence to lead, have excellent organisational skills and a sense of humour, then this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for. The cafe is currently undergoing a full refurbishment.
Duties
- Oversee daily cafe operations, ensuring smooth service flow and high standards of safety and cleanliness
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffees, teas, matcha, protein blends, mushroom coffee and more
- Lead, supervise, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a positive work environment
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies,
- Maintain compliance with health regulations and food safety standards across all preparation/storage and serving areas
- Provide training on food preparation, beverage crafting, and customer service techniques to new staff
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure overall guest satisfaction
- Work alongside owners on social media posts, shift planning and menu changes
- Undertake cash handling duties, till operations and start/end of shift procedures
Experience & skills essential
- Experience supervising or team management experience in a fast-paced setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols
- Barista experience with expertise in coffee brewing techniques a must
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members
- At least 2 years background in hospitality
- Familiarity with health & safety operations, current allergen guidelines and COSHH.
