If you’re good with people and passionate about crafting the perfect cup of coffee, we want you to join our team at Hisashi Coffee Company.
We are looking for seasoned and skilled baristas who can work full time (40 hours a week), which may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Please note: We will not consider any applications with less than one year of experience with specialty coffee.
Successful applicants will be considered for either a Junior or Senior Barista position, depending on their experience and ability.
In this role, you will:
- Bring high energy and enthusiasm every day.
- Be proactive and maintain smooth operations, setting the pace and efficiency on shift.
- Consistently prepare well crafted, beautifully presented, and delicious beverages.
- Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of coffee recipes, products, and advanced allergens.
- Uphold the highest standards of food and drink quality control.
- Engage warmly with both new and regular customers, educating them about specialty coffee and upselling where appropriate.
- Ensure all checklists are completed accurately, including deep cleaning, stock rotation, and daily operational tasks.
- Regularly inform stock levels and report to managers about improvements, issues, or suggestions.
- Work with the Team Lead to rotate zones on the floor to ensure smooth workflow and excellent customer experience.
- Support trainee baristas, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a clean and sanitised working environment at all times.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines consistently.
- Be punctual and maintain regular, reliable attendance.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive, and collaborative work environment.
Must Have:
- Minimum 1-2 years of barista experience with specialty coffee.
- Proven experience operating a manual espresso machine confidently.
- Skilled in latte art.
- Excellent customer service and the ability to engage with customers.
- Able to work full time, 40 hours a week.
Desirable:
- Previous experience training junior baristas.
- An understanding of batch brewing.
- Knowledge about coffee types and a passion for speciality coffee.
