£35,000–£40,000 per year (depending on experience, ability and qualifications)
Full-time | Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm + Alternate Saturdays
Experienced Vehicle Technician Wanted
Savile Road Garage is a busy, well-established independent garage in Castleford, specialising in MOT testing, servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our friendly team.
Our workshop is focused on MOTs and the repairs that naturally follow, meaning you'll spend most of your time carrying out servicing, brakes, suspension, tyres, diagnostics, timing belts and general mechanical repairs, rather than major engine rebuilds.
The Role
You'll carry out:
- MOT repairs
- Vehicle servicing
- Brakes and suspension
- Tyres
- Clutches
- Timing belts
- Diagnostics and fault finding
- General mechanical repairs
- Pre-MOT inspections
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 or above in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3–4 years' workshop experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Good diagnostic ability
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Pride in producing quality workmanship
MOT Tester status would be an advantage but is not essential.
