Overview
We need a kind, enthusiastic, artistic support worker to support our 27-year-old son with autism. This position includes encouraging him to develop his favourite activities and interests.
Responsibilities
- Provide encouragement and support to help him to carry out his preferred activities and interests.
- Activities include:
- Art: drawing, painting, and pottery.
- Interests include:.
- Food and cooking meals, for which he likes to plan the meals and do the shopping and cooking.
- Listening to music. He is musical and likes to practise singing.
- Communicate with his family and team members to ensure consistent progress.
- Drive him to appointments or activities.
- Monitor behavioural changes or challenges, using agreed methods.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young adults with special needs, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Energy, imagination and enthusiasm to develop and build upon his interests and activities.
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Patience, enthusiasm and imagination.
Pay: £101.68-£138.75 per day
