Job Overview
We are seeking an Asset Management Associate to join our Asset Management Team at the London Branch.
The successful candidate will support the ongoing administration, monitoring and management of corporate, financial institution and investment banking loans, with a particular focus on syndicated lending. The role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders, Head Office, agent banks and external counterparties to ensure the effective management of the loan portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Review facility agreements, loan documentation and internal approval conditions for new and existing loan facilities.
- Manage the post-closing administration and ongoing monitoring of syndicated and bilateral loans.
- Monitor financial and non-financial covenants, reporting requirements and other contractual obligations.
- Review notices, reports and documents received from agent banks and loan management platforms, identifying issues and escalating where appropriate.
- Support the processing of amendments, waivers, consents and lender voting requests.
- Process loan transactions, including drawdowns, repayments, interest payments and fees, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews, credit monitoring and asset-quality assessments.
- Prepare portfolio reports, management information and internal monitoring materials.
- Perform market, industry and borrower analysis to support ongoing portfolio monitoring.
- Maintain transaction records and security information, including collateral, guarantees and guarantor details.
- Liaise with Head Office, internal credit and business teams, agent banks, legal advisers and other external parties.
- Attend lender meetings and conference calls, preparing meeting notes and follow-up actions.
- Contribute to process improvements and support the efficient operation of the Asset Management Team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years’ experience in banking, preferably in syndicated lending, loan administration, loan operations, asset management, credit, corporate banking or a related function.
- Experience reviewing loan documentation and processing loan transactions is preferred.
- Native-level written and spoken Korean.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- High standards of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
