Overview
Join the kitchen team at Weston Park, one of Shropshire’s most distinctive heritage venues, where fresh food, high standards and memorable hospitality come together. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Chef de Partie who takes pride in their craft and is ready to play a key role in delivering consistently excellent food and service for our visitors, guests and event customers.
Working closely with the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef, you will take ownership of a designated kitchen section and help bring menus to life through careful preparation, confident service and consistent presentation. You will support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, contribute to effective stock and waste control, and help maintain a safe, clean and well-organised environment where the team can perform at its best.
This is a full-time role working 45 hours per week. As with most hospitality roles, flexibility will be required, including weekend working and occasional evenings, in line with the needs of the business. Weston Park is in a rural location, so candidates will need to be able to drive or have reliable independent transport to and from work.
About the role
As Chef de Partie, you will help deliver high-quality dishes efficiently and consistently across Weston Park’s food and hospitality offer. You will run and supervise your section, prepare confidently for service, maintain excellent hygiene standards and support junior chefs and apprentices where required.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Running and supervising a designated kitchen section to the standards set by the Head Chef.
- Ensuring all preparation is completed and ready for each service.
- Cooking and presenting dishes quickly, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
- Maintaining strong stock control, quality control, and waste management practices.
- Keeping your section clean, organised, safe and compliant with health and safety requirements.
- Supporting the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef in menu preparation and service delivery.
- Delegating tasks appropriately to junior chefs and apprentices and supporting their development.
- Working positively and proactively with colleagues across the kitchen and wider team.
About you
We are looking for a chef who takes real pride in their craft, enjoys being part of a committed team and can stay calm, organised, and focused during busy services. You will bring a proactive and reliable approach, with a strong commitment to food quality, presentation, hygiene, and excellent customer experience.
We would like to hear from candidates who bring:
- A professional cookery or hospitality management qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
- A genuine passion for food and the hospitality industry.
- The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- A flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and occasional evenings.
- The ability to drive, or reliable independent transport, due to Weston Park’s rural location.
- A positive, self-motivated attitude and a desire to continue developing your skills.
- Health and safety training, experience in a fresh food environment, or previous experience in a Chef de Partie or similar role would strengthen your application.
What we offer
You will join a supportive kitchen team in a setting where food, service, and guest experience matter. This is an opportunity to develop your skills, contribute ideas, work with fresh ingredients, and play a visible part in delivering memorable hospitality across Weston Park’s visitor, event and private dining offer.
