Fancy a summer spent on the water?
We're Bath River Cruises, a small, new operation running scenic trips on the River Avon from Broad Quay. Our boat is the Jolly Brit, a 1953 jolly boat from the Royal Yacht Britannia, once used by Queen Elizabeth II. She turns heads everywhere she goes.
We're looking for a skipper to join us for the season.
The job
Your main task is to get the boat safely up and down the river, and tell our passengers a good story while you do it. The route takes in plenty of history worth talking about along the way. We'll give you a full commentary guide and you make it your own.
Alongside that, you'll open and close the boat at the start and end of the day, keep her clean and tidy, and serve drinks to passengers.
It's an enjoyable job. You're outside, on the river, meeting people who are genuinely delighted to be there, and the tips reflect that.

- Confidence handling a small passenger vessel in a busy stretch of river
- A warm, chatty manner and genuine interest in Bath and its history

Nice to have, but not essential
