Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Roofer to join our dynamic construction team. Based in Aberdeenshire / Angus In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various roofing systems on residential buildings. Your expertise will ensure roofs are durable, weather-resistant, and built to the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Measure and cut roofing materials accurately using hand tools and power tools to ensure precise fit and installation.
- Install a variety of roofing systems including slate and tile , metal panels, flat roofing with attention to detail and safety protocols.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn roofing components efficiently to extend the lifespan of existing roofs.
- Fabricate custom flashing, vents, and other roof accessories using welding techniques and fabrication tools for seamless integration.
- Use schematics and technical drawings to guide installation processes, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment safely while adhering to ergonomic practices.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, plumbers, and other tradespeople to coordinate construction activities on multi-disciplinary projects.
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in roofing installation and repair.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, as well as power tools including drills, saws, and nail guns.
- Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, or technical drawings related to roofing projects.
- Ability to operate welding equipment for fabricating custom metal components when necessary.
- Experience with fabrication techniques involving metalworking or similar trades is a plus.
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting, working at heights, and performing physically demanding tasks daily.
- Basic understanding of plumbing or masonry work is advantageous for integrated project requirements.
- Strong safety awareness with adherence to OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
