The initial position is to cover for our current hygienist who is on maternity leave. The practice is expanding in Q4 2026 so there is an opportunity for this role to transition into a permanent position.
A few words about the Practice
We are a fully private dental practice in Pinner, northwest London. The practice has been providing dental treatments for nearly 40 years and retains high regard among its patients with over 350, 5* Google reviews. The practice offers a wide variety of dental and cosmetic treatments, including Invisalign and implants, as well as general dentistry, hygiene and aesthetic treatments.
Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using advanced imaging technology to assist in diagnosis
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and ensuring patient comfort
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment notes and imaging results, in compliance with privacy regulations
- Monitor patient health by assessing oral anatomy and identifying signs of dental or medical issues requiring further attention
- Ensure all dental equipment, including CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools and medical imaging devices, are properly maintained and calibrated for optimal performance
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry, such as digital X-rays and intraoral cameras
- Solid understanding of human anatomy related to oral structures to accurately assess patient health
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety
- Adaptability to learn new technologies and stay updated on advancements in dental care practices
