The Crew Manager will provide and assist in provision of rescue and firefighting services on behalf of London City Airport. To provide Duty Crew services and contribute to the safety and smooth running of the operations of the airport, supporting the role of the firefighter & management during an incident.

Complete the tasks of a Crew Manager in charge of any appliance during operations & at the event on an incident/accident or occurrence.
- Be prepared to undertake mandatory ARFFS Supervisory Training to perform temporary duties in the absence of the Watch Manager.

Assist in aircraft incidents involving rescue and/ or firefighting to affect control or containment of the incident, providing the role of a sector commander reporting to the OIC.

To assist in rescue and/ or firefighting involving airport premises and/or property and to supervise the deployment of crews and equipment at such incidents as appropriate, also providing the role of OIC if required.
- Render humanitarian assistance for any incidents off the airfield as required by the Watch Manager (e.g. road traffic accidents capsized vessels). In the Absence of the Watch Manager, to determine the level of response to such incidents, liaising with NAT’S regarding the level of Category required to operate, completing required DRA.
- Assist in firefighting involving fires off airfield as required by the Watch Manager, or, in the absence of the Watch Manager, to determine the level of response to such incidents.

Assist in fire prevention duties within the airport premises including testing of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, hand fire appliances and hose reels, positioning of signage and making Centrik reports and completing PDR PRO records as required or to delegate such duties to firefighters as appropriate.

Assist in the inspection, testing and maintenance of rescue and firefighting equipment and ensuring PDR PRO records and reports are completed as required and to delegate such duties as appropriate, highlight deficiencies & raise procurement & business cases
- Carry out special service requests of the fire service (e.g. apron wash downs) and to supervise such tasks as appropriate, ensure all services are recorded in the ARFFS statistics, make sure all response times for your appliances are maintained.
- Attend training courses as required to obtain the necessary qualifications and proficiency as an Airport Fire Service Crew Manager, undertake courses to support your development & complete the role of Watch Manager.
- Be deliver and be accountable for regulatory training including all records via PDR PRO, highlighting any deficiencies and create plans to guarantee audit performance.

Assist in airport staff fire training and present information and demonstrations to support fire safety on the airport or to delegate such duties as appropriate.

Host visitors to the Airport Fire Station or to delegate such duties as appropriate, ensuring all temporary badge holders always have an escort.
- Assist in the clearing of runway, taxiways and apron area (e.g. foreign object debris (FOD), snow etc.

Monitor rosters, sickness, RTW, appraisals ensuring all paperwork is completed passed to relevant departments & records updated.
- Take part in ongoing technical and practical training within the airport as required. In conjunction with the Watch Manager, to identify the training needs of the watch and to prepare, organise and participate in such training.

Oversee & contribute to the general good housekeeping of the Fire Station, completing daily inspections highlighting any deficiencies & recording faults with FM, safety reports on Centrik.

Procure, collect and deliver items for the Fire Service from the airport stores or from outside agencies or, to delegate such duties as required as required.

Co-ordinate with the Watch Manager to ensure that all training PDR PRO records are completed and ensure that all training required to comply with the CAA licence is carried out on a regular basis. Support internal and external audits and be accountable for any auditable material or metrics.
- Support in completing exercises with internal & external agencies to fall in with CAP 699 & CAP 1168 training, planning extra training to support any shortfalls in training.
- Co-ordinate with the Watch Manager to ensure that staff rosters are produced in accordance with Station policy and take the necessary action to ensure adequate staff are available to meet the manning requirements of the aerodrome licence. Keep the Watch manager advised of developments, complete swops of shifts to fulfil the operational requirement.
- Complete any reasonable requests by the station leadership team to support a smooth-running of the fire station.
