Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter/Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various structures and components across construction and renovation projects. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry, joinery, and construction techniques, with the ability to work safely and efficiently in a dynamic environment. Duties
- Fabricate and assemble timber, metal, or composite components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
- Install structural elements such as frameworks, roofing systems, or fixtures on-site according to specifications.
- Perform carpentry tasks including joinery, framing, and fitting of various building components.
- Assist with roofing activities, including laying tiles or sheets and ensuring waterproofing measures are correctly implemented.
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and components safely to facilitate installation processes.
- Carry out construction painting where necessary to prepare surfaces for finishing.
- Support plumbing, masonry, or electrical work as required on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry, joinery, roofing, plumbing, masonry or electrical work.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers; power tools including drills and saws; and specialised equipment relevant to construction trades.
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and perform physically demanding tasks over extended periods.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and safety protocols.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in measuring and fitting components accurately.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or related trades are desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
