Caffeine Addict Coffee Shop is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our team in Headingley.
We’re an independent coffee brand with a passion for exceptional coffee, outstanding customer service and creating a welcoming space within our local community. As Assistant Manager, you’ll play an integral role in maintaining our high standards and helping make Caffeine Addict the coffee house of choice in Headingley.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about coffee, confident leading a team and enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced environment. You’ll be an ambassador for our brand, ensuring every guest receives consistently excellent coffee, service and an experience they want to come back for.
Key Responsibilities
· Take orders and prepare and serve consistently excellent coffee and other beverages.
· Deliver exceptional, friendly and knowledgeable customer service.
· Support the Coffee House Manager in the day-to-day running of the coffee shop.
· Take on a managerial role in the absence of the Coffee House Manager.
· Open and close the Coffee House as required.
· Support, motivate and work closely with baristas and the kitchen team.
· Maintain consistently high standards of coffee, service, cleanliness and presentation.
· Clean and sanitise work areas, utensils and equipment.
· Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming customer and seating area.
· Order, receive and distribute stock supplies.
· Report equipment faults, operational challenges and other issues promptly to management.
· Use the POS system confidently and accurately process customer payments.
· Accommodate customer needs and dietary requirements appropriately.
· Ensure all company and statutory health & safety requirements are followed.
· Attend relevant meetings and training courses as required.
· Act as a positive ambassador for Caffeine Addict within the Headingley community.
· Help create a welcoming environment and a happy, supportive workplace for the whole team.

What We’re Looking For:
· Minimum 5 years’ barista experience, including strong latte art skills.
· A proven ability to make consistently excellent coffee.
· Excellent face-to-face customer service skills.
· Confidence supervising and supporting a team in a busy coffee shop environment.
· The ability to respond quickly and effectively to challenges while managing customer expectations.
· A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
· Experience using a POS system and handling customer payments.
· Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
· Good literacy and numeracy skills.
· The ability to work independently and deliver quality work without constant supervision.
· A positive, approachable and professional manner.
· Strong team-player qualities.
· Enthusiasm for developing your coffee knowledge and professional skills.
· An adaptable attitude and willingness to embrace new ideas, processes and ways of working.
