Overview
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator/Bookkeeper for an immediate start. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of client payrolls and submissions to HMRC . Your expertise in payroll systems and accounting software will help us maintain compliance and support our commitment to client satisfaction. The successful application will also be expected to show a good know of bookkeeping processes and be able to use this to prepare VAT returns, and compile sole trader/company accounts to trial balance
Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently using systems such as Payroll Manager (Moneysoft), ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations
- Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions and enter information onto accounting systems as required
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for management analysis, identifying discrepancies or anomalies for prompt resolution
- Collaborate with clients to verify employee information, attachments of earnings and changes affecting payroll calculations
- Support ongoing improvements in payroll processes by analysing workflows and recommending enhancements for efficiency
- Prepare VAT returns, and compile sole trader/company accounts to trial balance
Requirements
- Proven experience working with payroll systems is essential
- Knowledge of accounting software, including Sage and Xero
- Familiarity with human resources processes, benefits administration and compliance standards
- Excellent analysis skills to identify discrepancies and resolve payroll issues swiftly
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong organisational skills
