Duties
- Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct MOT tests efficiently and accurately, adhering to all legal and industry requirements.
- Diagnose faults using mechanical knowledge, diagnostic tools, and hand and power tools.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance tasks including engine work, brake servicing, suspension repairs, and tire replacements.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete repairs with precision.
- Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or components as needed, following proper safety procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and MOT test results to ensure traceability and quality control.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Experience using power tools safely for vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate diagnostics and compliance with MOT standards.
- Excellent communication skills to explain repairs clearly to customers and team members.
- Valid MOT tester certification (or willingness to obtain certification upon hire).

As a small family run business, some office duties and liaising with customers will also be an integral part of your role, therefore good customer service is crucial.
Working hours are 8.30-5.30 , Monday to Friday.
