Plant Centre Specialist Assistant - Full Time - Permanent
Love Plants at Salop Leisure
Love Plants is a traditional plant centre based at Salop Leisure offering an extensive range of hardy plants backed up by horticultural knowledge and traditional customer service.
Horticultural qualifications or extensive plant knowledge is essential as the person appointed will be required to advise, guide and provide technical expertise to customers.
Hours of work are between 8.45 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. (Sunday 9.45 to 5.30).
Working full time including alternate weekends with a day off in the week. (Flexibility to work hours outside normal requirement of the role to cover occasional shows/open evenings would be useful).
Qualities/Skills we are looking for:
Horticultural qualifications and experience within the industry
(3 year minimum)
Plant and horticultural knowledge
Passion for plants
Awareness of gardening seasons
Good communication and sales skills
High standard of customer service
Handling customer queries effectively and efficiently
Happy to work outside in all weather conditions.
Applicants should be aware that this role involves some lifting/outdoor work and therefore a good level of physical fitness is essential.
· Attention to detail and creativity.
· Merchandising skills
· A team player
· Basic IT skills
· Full driving license is desirable.
Duties will include:
· Meeting and greeting customers and providing advice on plant choice & care
· Processing deliveries
· Maintaining plant stock
· Merchandising stock
· Creating relevant seasonal displays
· Watering, pruning etc.
· Ensure plant area is well presented at all times.
· Operating till and cashing up
· Ensure pricing and signage are correct.
· Assist customers to vehicles with purchases when necessary.
. Assisting with Stock taking and ordering
Full training will be given to meet the specific requirements of our business.
