About the Role
We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced HGV/Lorry Driver with HIAB to join our team. The role involves the safe and timely delivery of slate aggregates, pallets of facing stone, paving, and related materials to customers across Devon and Cornwall.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of customer service, and is comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a range of building and landscaping materials to residential and commercial sites
- Safely load and unload goods, including use of HIAB where applicable
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
- Ensure all deliveries are completed efficiently and to schedule
- Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork
- Provide a professional and friendly service to all customers
- Adhere to all driving, safety, and company regulations
Requirements
- Valid HGV (Class 1 or Class 2) licence
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- HIAB certificate preferred (training may be provided for the right candidate)
- Previous experience in a similar delivery role is desirable
- Good knowledge of Devon and Cornwall road networks
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices
- Good communication and customer service skills
