Self-Employed Kitchen & Furniture Sprayer - Greater London
Kitchen Makeup is looking for an experienced self-employed kitchen and furniture sprayer to work on kitchen and fitted-furniture respray projects across Greater London and nearby areas.
This is a project-based opportunity for an independent sprayer with their own equipment, vehicle and suitable off-site spraying space.
Kitchen Makeup provides enquiries, client communication, scheduling, agreed project scope, water-based paint and primer. You carry out the agreed preparation and spraying work independently, from door collection through to final completion.
You must be based in Greater London or nearby and be willing to travel up to approximately 1-2 hours each way when required for door collection and the on-site phase of a project.
The work
A typical kitchen project normally includes:
- Day 1 - Collecting kitchen doors and drawer fronts, plus initial cleaning and preparation
- Following days - Sanding, repairs, priming and spraying doors off site
- Final 1-2 days - Protecting the client’s home, spraying fixed kitchen carcasses and visible panels, refitting doors and completing the job
We use a professional water-based primer and spray-paint system.
You must have
- Proven experience spraying kitchen cabinets, furniture, MDF, wood, laminate and similar surfaces
- Good furniture-preparation skills, including cleaning, degreasing, sanding, filling, repairs and priming
- Experience masking and protecting clients’ homes before spraying
- Your own HVLP spraying equipment
- A reliable car or van large enough to transport up to approximately 40 kitchen doors
- A suitable enclosed garage, workshop or dedicated spray space for preparing, priming and spraying doors off site
- Ability to work independently and maintain high standards of preparation, spraying, cleanliness and completion
- Basic spoken English
- Full driving licence
Public liability insurance is an advantage.
Typical project payments
Payment is agreed per project before work begins and depends on the size, preparation requirements, travel and scope of work.
Examples:
- Small kitchen - approximately 12-15 doors: around £1,000 for approximately 3-4 days’ work
