We are seeking passionate and dedicated Experienced Day Centre Support Workers to join our vibrant team. Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal care, mobility, meal preparation, and medication administration in accordance with care plans.
- Support clients in engaging with social, recreational, and therapeutic activities designed to promote independence and well-being.
- Monitor clients’ health status, observe behavior changes, and report any concerns promptly to senior staff or healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including incident reports, medication records, and activity logs.
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, especially for clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s care requirements.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols, including heavy lifting techniques when assisting with mobility or transfers.
- Going on client outings or appointments, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a support worker in either supported living or in a day centre.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and care planning processes.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are essential; additional qualifications in dementia care or hospice care, Oliver McGowen training in Level 1 and 2 are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and case management principles to support diverse client needs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with patient transfers or mobility support as required.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
