The main purpose of the role is:
To manage, develop and grow the Council's social media presence across multiple brands, services, projects and community initiatives.
The post holder will be responsible for creating engaging content, managing social media channels, delivering paid digital advertising campaigns, maintaining websites and email communications, and supporting audience growth, engagement and ticket sales through effective digital marketing activity.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced social media and digital marketing professional with a proven track record in content creation, audience development and digital advertising.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple social media channels, creating engaging content, delivering advertising campaigns and supporting the ongoing growth of the Council's digital presence.
This is a varied and rewarding role working across a diverse range of events, services, projects and community initiatives. No two days are the same and the successful candidate will play a key role in helping us engage with residents, visitors, customers and stakeholders through effective digital communication and marketing activity.
About you:
You will be passionate about social media and digital marketing, with strong content creation skills and a clear understanding of how to grow audiences, increase engagement and deliver measurable results. You will be comfortable working within a small, busy marketing team, managing multiple projects simultaneously and responding to changing priorities. You will have experience using Meta Business Suite, creating paid advertising campaigns, maintaining WordPress websites and producing content across a variety of digital channels.
You will be confident working across a broad range of marketing activities and able to adapt your approach to suit different audiences, campaigns and objectives. Whether promoting an event, supporting a community initiative, communicating important information or developing audience engagement, you will be able to create content that delivers results.
You will be comfortable working in a hands-on role that combines strategic planning with practical delivery. From creating content and managing campaigns to attending events and capturing live content, you will be equally comfortable behind a desk or out in the community representing the Council's activities and services.
