Pay: Basic £23.45 / weekday overtime £32.83 plus welder proficiency hour payment of £0.47 an hour, Second tier bonus on all worked hours of £0.80

UEC Mechanical Engineering Ltd is recruiting experienced Coded Pipe Welders for a long-term engineering project within a major industrial facility in the Immingham area.
Role responsibilities

Complete pipe welding activities to the required project specifications and quality standards.

Work in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).

Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, engineering drawings and technical instructions.

Prepare pipework and joints for welding, ensuring the correct alignment and cleanliness.

Produce consistently high-quality welds in the required positions.

Inspect completed work and promptly report any defects or quality concerns.

Cooperate with welding inspectors and quality personnel during inspection and testing activities.

Follow all permits, risk assessments, method statements and site safety procedures.

Check welding equipment before use and report any faults or defects.

Work alongside Pipefitters, Supervisors and other trades to meet the project programme.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
Essential requirements

NVQ Level 3 in Welding or an equivalent relevant qualification.

Relevant and current pipe welding codings.
-
Valid Safety Passport or IOSH Managing Safely qualification.

Previous pipe welding experience within a refinery, petrochemical, power generation or similar heavy industrial environment.

Experience working to approved Welding Procedure Specifications.

Ability to read and interpret piping isometric drawings.

Strong understanding of permit-to-work systems and industrial site safety requirements.

Ability to consistently work to demanding quality standards.

Reliable and professional approach to work.
Applicants may be required to complete a weld test before commencing work.
