Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Plumber and Gasfitter to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing and gas systems across a variety of commercial and residential settings. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient, and reliable water, gas, and mechanical systems that meet all safety standards and building codes. You’ll be working on a variety of plumbing and heating installations, both locally and further afield. The successful candidate must be confident working independently as well as part of a team.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures, pipes, and gas lines in accordance with local codes and safety regulations
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to assemble and modify plumbing and gas systems
- Conduct routine inspections to identify leaks, corrosion, or faulty components; troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to support installation projects
- Read blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical diagrams to accurately execute project plans
- Operate commercial vehicles for transporting tools, materials, or equipment to job sites
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high safety standards
Experience
- Proven experience as a plumber or gasfitter in commercial or residential settings
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to plumbing systems, gas appliances, and related infrastructure
- Skilled in welding, assembly, and the use of hand tools and power tools required for installation and repairs
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and reading technical specifications
- Experience with carpentry tasks that support plumbing or gas fitting projects is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely on job sites; physically fit for demanding tasks
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating commercial vehicles preferred
