Overview
Our customers trust our 48 year old family run company to provide them with a well-made product, installed correctly which is aesthetically pleasing and that they have a great experience with CR Windows Ltd.
We are based in Kingwood and operate in and around a 40-mile radius of Bristol.
We manufacture our own products in our factory which provides total control from conception to completion.
Due to an increase in customer demand, we are looking for 2 to 3 ‘Fitters Mates’ to help and assist our Main Experienced Installers with domestic installations of windows and doors.
If you are interested in becoming a ‘Trainee Window Installer’ whist working under full supervision communication and instruction and you would like to learn new skills, then please apply. You do not need any experience just a willingness to learn, help and work hard therefore you need to be physically fit and not afraid of manual handling.
During your training period you will start with basic tasks such as loading and unloading frames and glazing from the van. Setting the work area up inside the customer home ensuring carpets are protected and work area is kept neat, clean, tidy and without trip hazards. Thereafter, you will be assisting the Main Experienced Installer with day-to-day installations of windows and doors using cordless hand tools where accurate measurements are critical, therefore you must be able to use and read a metric tape measure .
This is a self-employed position where payment for your work will depend on your experience and this figure will be agreed between yourself and the Main Installer
Responsibilities
· Collect Job Sheet from factory
· Collect fixings and sealants from stores and load onto dilly
· Transfer frames, glazing, cills onto dilly located in warehouse
· Transfer frames, glass, fixings etc from dilly to company vehicle
· Secure all goods to racking using suitable safety straps
· Assist with navigation to customer homes
· Unload goods from van into customer homes
· Dust sheet areas required
· Prior to frame removal check aperture against new frames
- Assist Main Installer with frame removal
- Remove old frames and fixtures carefully, minimizing damage to surrounding structures.
- Clear debris from site as works progress
- Assist with lifting new windows and doors into prepared openings
- Assist with lifting new glazing into frames
- Clean glazing taking care not to disturb fresh silicone
- Deliver customer expectation by providing a great service for customers ensuring that they are satisfied with your work as recommendations form a majority of our work.
- Skills
- Authorised to work in the UK
- Valid UK Driving License is preferred but not essential with no more than 3 points
- Valid Public Liability Insurance
- Accurately use metric tape measure
- Safety Footwear (PPE)
- Willingness to learn and work hard
- Must be physically fit
- Able to work at height
- Manually handle heavy frames
- Load and unload the van
- Set tarpaulins and dust sheeting out ready for the installation
- Aware of health & safety regulations and best practices for work at height
