About the Role
As a Planting Machine Operator, you'll play a key role in our production process by operating planting machinery and supporting efficient, high-quality planting operations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, busy horticultural business with opportunities to develop your skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate planting machinery safely and efficiently.
- Support planting activities to ensure quality, consistency, and uniformity.
- Operate or assist with robotic planting, lifting, and stacking equipment.
- Monitor planting conditions and report any equipment or production issues.
- Clean and maintain planting areas, machinery, and equipment.
- Assist with the movement of materials to maintain efficient production flow.
- Work closely with the production team to achieve daily planting targets.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company standards.
Working Hours
This role is seasonal with different shift patterns throughout the year:
- August to mid-November: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am – 5:00 pm.
- Mid-November to May: Rotating shifts of either:
- 6:00 am – 3:00 pm, or
- 3:00 pm – 12:00 midnight.
Applicants must be flexible and able to work the required shift pattern.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience operating machinery is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy production environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
- Reliable, dependable, and safety conscious.
