The King’s School, Canterbury is seeking to appoint a highly organised and professional Clerk to the Governors to provide independent governance support to the Governing Body of one of the country's leading independent schools.
Reporting directly to the Chair of Governors, the Clerk plays a pivotal role in ensuring that governance arrangements are effective, compliant and well supported. Acting as the first point of contact for governance matters, the successful candidate will coordinate governance processes, advise on procedures and best practice, support Governor recruitment and induction, maintain governance records and ensure the smooth administration of the Governing Body and its committees.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong organisational, administrative and communication skills, who is able to exercise discretion, sound judgement and attention to detail. Experience of governance, company secretarial work, compliance or the education sector would be advantageous, although applications are welcomed from candidates with transferable skills and a genuine interest in governance.
The successful candidate will work closely with Governors, senior leaders and external advisers, contributing to the continued success and strategic direction of The King's School.
